Top mount covers are DIY i modified them

the DV that i had WASNT LEAKING !!!!!!  well it was but iv seen what the issue was, the longest leg on this type is screwed in, and it was loose, maybe the high boost made it work loose, bad design that would be solved if it was 1 piece or had a thread lock on it.

scott check yours or put some thread lock on it.. gonna use my old one on the caddy I'm converting

well yeah, on the pic, the longer leg of the 2 is threaded and was loose, it was not like this when i fitted it, i thought it was all 1 piece !!!

iv now sorted it so its easy to go on the caddy.. the 008 holds boost a lot better than the old one ever did tho

yea do, iv put some thread lock on it. I can only think the high boost I'm running has made it loose, plus the hard ride of the suspension maybe ?

gonna bump this up to the top again :-)

Car has been at Carbon and they have done a map that took near 2 weeks to complete.. The only way i can explain this is ballistic!!

over 300ibft and 252bhp  (in shootout mode setting on the Dyno dynamics rollers, Craig thinks around the 280 bhp mark in normal readings)

anyhow.. the car feels like it has about twice this power. it really is brutal.. nick at carbon has told me the chassis is at its limits now and any more power will result in the car not been as fast to drive (getting the actual power down etc)

And today, just to confirm the brutality of this car we had a little test with some guys local to us that also do conversions

their car:

MK3 GTI with AMK engine, Emerald standalone ECU with K04 Hybrid.. 320 BHP

My car has same engine (AMK) and the K04 it came with (not hybrid)  but has the superb carbon map

the results :

a massive WIN for F17BAD.. the car is much better to drive, pulls much harder, spools faster and holds on to the boost a zillion times better.. it is like a contest between me and the car to who is gonna give up first..either me letting off the throttle or the car running out of puff.. the car wins every time!!!!!

the lads with the other Mk3 thought mine had a big turbo conversion and around 350 bhp!!
This really does prove some bhp readings mean f**k all

F17BAD is a true lethal machine and i need to treat it with the respect it deserves or ill end up dead or banned...

Do i go big Turbo and risk spoiling this fantastic set up.... ???

Next up is Gearbox work, LSD etc...

Massive shouts out to Nick and Craig at Carbon..

We can only pray he continues to treat it with the respect he speaks of, can't we?
