Title: GOLF GTI MK6 2011 Mechatronic (gear solenoids)
Post by: Hazimaro on 01 February 2021, 14:36
Hello,

Unfortunately my car has become a money pit. I’ve just had it tested for the gearbox issue, mechatronic unit is coming back with two gear solenoid issues. I don’t know what to do, the garage is saying a new one is advised and can cost 2k plus labour. However they ha e stated it can be refurbed but not a guarantee repair and I can be out of pocket for £500 if it doesn’t work.

What are my options? He says the chances for refurb to work is 50/50.

Think you need a more realistic repair option!
