MK8 GTI cant use the "voice control" on 1 month old car

Looking at the configurator, I think they have gone back to trying to distinguish "NavPro" over the basic system like in the Mk7.5...because previously NavPro gave you one thing - dual map dispay - literally nothing else (in the UK)

It says now that Pro gives you voice control and gesture control... suggesting the basic one lacks both.

No pretty sure I don't, can't see it in the settings and nothing happens when I move my fingers around the display & buttons

Seem to remember there is a setting where you enable/disable it but its enabled by default.

The main place its used (or at least I use it) is with a side swipe just below the screen which is the equivalent of swiping the actual screen - eg to go from the media track list to the "now playing" screen.

Its a bit gimmicky if I am honest - much like the voice control!

Yea your right, that's why I'm not bothering with paying £250 for the voice commands!!! 

Might add it if I find a OBD doo dah that enables it for free just to play with

This paying to enable extras already installed is a little like paying for DLCs for features in games that should have already been included!

Technically its about reducing the RRP cost of the vehicle so it could get you under the dreaded 40k...

On lower models loads of things are not included that you can buy online...IQ lights, interior coloured lighting...
