I don't.... we'd need some detailed VW workshop manuals to figure that out.

There will be different part numbers on some of the suspension components I am fairly sure... its not going to be adjustments, they simply can't build cars based on manual adjustments on the production line like that.

(I understand all about production lines!)

This is how close a 8.5J +47 is to strut's dust boot without mounted tire,
the keyring is about 2-3mm thick and it touches the strut
Would it be safe to run it? Maybe opting for 19's from the factory changes something in the suspension
I think adelaide's are 8J +50 would poke out few mm more

That looks a bit scary to me... I'm no expert but I'd probably not want to risk that.
