Spent the afternoon yesterday doing my car and my parent's new Qashqai. Neither car was really that dirty and mine only got snow foam and wheels as most of the time was spent on theirs.
I told parents not to bother getting the dealer to put protection on it as they wanted to charge £400, when I could do the same if not better with a bottle of c2v3 for about 7 quid!! (plus I got them some good shampoo, wheel cleaner, grit guards, drying towel, snow foam and lance).
I also got to try out my wheel woollies
So did a decontamination and protection on the Qashqai:
Pressure washer rinse (both cars)
Snow foam and rinse (both cars)
Wheel clean (both cars)
2 bucket wash with DDJ supernatural shampoo and rinse down
iron x and rinse off
2 bucket wash with DDJ supernatural shampoo and rinse down
open ended hose rinse (both cars)
towel dry (both cars)
put gtechniq C2V3 on all paint work
poorboys natural look on exterior black plastic and to dress tyres(both cars)
I was knackered after all that... good job my car wasn't that dirty as I was too tired to wash it with shampoo, but it came up very well with just the snow foam.
Some pics...
dirty back window and bumper on the GTD...
Some caked on dirt on the inside of the Qashqai alloys, which came off with the wheel cleaner and brush/mit.
Snow foam action
Finished results... starting to go dark by the time I had done, although the pics are a bit darker than it actually was...
I must say I was quite impressed by the wheel woollies and they are definitely worth the expense. I still ended up using the wheel mit for the front face of all the alloys, but the brush was easier to do the rest, and could easily reach to the back of the GTD alloys using it, and get the inside of the wheel next to the calliper as I was struggling to get my hand in with the mit.
I am extremely impressed with the gtechniq C5 I put on my alloys as the brake dust just came straight off when I used the pressure washer on the wheels... probably didn't even need wheel cleaner, but I did it anyway. Well worth the 8hrs I spent polishing the alloys and putting the C5 on last week!
