I'd argue that the type approval the tesla vehicle received to make it legal to register for use implies that the vehicle controls do not constitute a distraction like a mobile phone.

There's a magistrate in Germany who says you're wrong.

And rightly so. This is about other road users and pedetrian safety, not the right of drivers to do what they like.

The only thing I would say is why does VW make the front valence so high?, its the same on my wifes MK7, almost like it needs a defuser

Thanks for sharing SpikeyBoy.

The white one is growing on me but those alloys are terrble.

I’m not really fan of any diamond cut alloys, and VW seem to have an obsession with diamond cut wheels for many of their performance models.

IMO those wheels IMO are better than the (standard?) 18” five arm swastika design though - seen in this YouTube video;

If you look at other manufactures, diamond cut aren't just a VW obsession. Lots of uses have them, Audi, BMW, Merc all have lots of diamond cut wheels.

Looks like VW have gone the full BMW-esq thick steering wheel with the Mk8, bit thicker than the Mk5/6 even ?

Had my first sit in a Mk8 today. All very Golf-like and nothing spectacular to report.

Only thing I would say is that I’m not entirely sure the plastics are worse at all. Think there’s something about the feel of them though as they’re all very smooth unlike the textured surfaces of the Mk7. Might just be me though.

Seems more noticeable around the gear stick especially.

Only bit that really felt poor was the silver trim on the dash. Very hollow feeling.
