I knew it wouldnt be as much as a turbo but was expecting a few more than 10 bhp - Is that the definitive answer or does Nick know something else?

Gave that up years ago!!

They were right about the long term damage, then!  :P  :D

The car has lost some power since new - it had 125 BHP but probably has only 100 left - will the remap add 10 bhp to the 100 or will it be 135bhp?
I think i need Nick here for clarification -

No, the map won't cure any other problems you've got with the car!  :D

As she had a good service recently - Changed the plugs etc.?  Any fault codes?

It did have an air intake code a while ago - so I changed the lamda sensor and changed the MAF to an original VW part- the service was done 1k ago as well - the car was drinking petrol but all that is sorted - got the brake discs, pads changed as well. The car as far as i know has no problems at all and goes through all gears nicely right up to 6000 revs.

They were right about the long term damage- sorry what did I say??

With this engine we cannot even say you going to make any peak more power at all. The remap will tidy up the running and make the engine feel sharper and crisper across the whole rev range.

It all depends what the starting block is.

Well the Octavia you have is the AGN engine but with a turbo - the other engines AUM, i think are 150 bhp with a turbo - so the AGN can be that bad a lump!
It is pretty quick, especially after 3000 revs, i too have a powerflow exhaust which makes a bit of difference & a new panel filter along with a remap will only make it faster - poss 140 horses. I haven't driven a turbo yet - i can definitely see the appeal though after r-tech get their hands on it.
