Need New speakers and poss stereo

The speakers in the mo are pretty pants and you have to crank the stereo up loud just for them to work!

So looking for suggestions as to what a good set of speakers and tweeters would be for my mkii, not looking to spend a fortune but just want a decent set up in the car so i can enjoy my tunes. At the moment its just the rear speakers that are working

id say i'm working on a budget of around £200 that would be for stereo and speakers, im not a massive ICE junkie I just want to be able to listen my music which is mainly rock/metal/ pop punk

Now have seen some stereos that take SD cards? but ideally if it can play mp3 cds that would be good um not really sure what other features i would require as long as its got a good sound and it works ill be happy

You are probably looking at a decent second hand unit then. Do you want to run a MP3 player (iPod) through the unit?

What about Vibe 5.25" in the doors and tweeters in the dash? Cost you about £50 leaving a little more for a headunit perhaps new.

yeah if an ipod can be plugged in that would be good, i dont actually own an ipod but do have i tunes

i do have tweeter holes in the door cards already as said im really clued up on stereos and not to bothered what it is as long as it works

Would be open to a second hand head unit, I know the speakers are going to make more of a difference

You can get decent entry level Alpine's with iPod connectivity. The price increases when you add Bluetooth, more outputs and other features.
