GTI MK8 infotainment questions
« on: 28 October 2021, 10:52 »
Hi all,

Random question, only had my car for a couple of days trying to find everything to make her the way I want

Few questions:

1 - Is there a PSI boost pressure screen, I saw one on a review but cant see the option to see it on the driver's screen
2 - Is there some performance style monitoring for the left-hand screen too?

Thanks all!

I thought it was one of the things you could have on the left/right of the dash?

If its not, then it might be something you can enable in OBD11.... but I could be wrong.

There is no Mk7.5 style performance monitor for the infotainment screen AFAIK.
Current: Mk8 GTI DSG, Adelaides, DCC, HUD, HK, Winter Pack, Rear Camera.. Aka "HMS Weasel"

Gone: 2017 Mk7.5 GTD,manual, NavPro
Gone: 2014 Mk7 GTD, manual, NavPro, DCC

I will have a better look maybe it's got a strange name or something!

If you go to the dials view where the large "GTI" rev counter is in the middle, then you can set either (or both) of the left/right smaller dials to show the boost / power dials.

Oh I remember I had to go into "Settings" for each of the sub-dials and manually tick "Boost" / "Power" as one of the options that can be shown in those small dials. Then exit settings and it appears in the list as one of the options you can show.

Joe has it spot on with the dials.
Such a useful feature having the boost and g-meter. The only time it’s worth looking at either is when you can least afford to unless you want to die.

For an efficiency meter I can suggest getting a girlfriend or wife or mother or something to sit in the passenger seat. They will monitor your driving in live time by telling you that you’re going too fast constantly which will in turn will improve your economy and efficiency.

For performance monitoring get your chavvy mate to sit in (admit it, we all have at least one) and they’ll constantly egg you on to do stupid things assisting you to set a few records on your lap timer.
