Not had any issues on my 14 plate PP.

However, there are many, many reports of a stage one remap on a manual causing issues with the clutch if the high boost version of the map is put on. Hence many companies will (or should) offer the lower boost version for cars with standard clutches.

Hence a stage one on mine will also get an uprated clutch installed at the same time, just to be on the safe side.

I had some clutch slippage on my 2013 GTI with a bluefin fitted. (45K)

It only did it a couple of times in 6th on the motorway but at  £1500 for a new clutch  I thought I'd play it safe.

Bluefin removed about 5K ago and it hasn't slipped since.
Mk7 GTI. DBP, DCC, Winter pack. Mine since new, July 2013.

Mine slipped with a tuning box fitted, but only when I was high load/high gear/low-mid revs. It just overpowers (or overtorques) the standard clutch. Unfortunately I struggled to change my driving style to drive round it (change down etc.) so removed the box

It's a shame as the tuning box transforms the car for the better. If the clutch went now, I'd get an uprated one and put the box back on too, but it just means finding £1000+ for an uprated clutch fitted.

Is the clutch different on a GTD to the GTi?

Funny you should say that. I was going up north last week and filled the car with Shell V-power diesel in Coventry on the way and I had massive amount of gudder under heavy load, even in 6th gear at 80mph but it turned out to be bad fuel.

Luckily I only put £20 in and by the time I'd got up there the tank was nearly empty so I filled to the brim with V-power again and by the time I was 40 or so miles down the road again the car was back to normal.

I've contacted Shell about it and they are looking into it.
