Golf mk6 / Infotainment Differences
« Last post by moebiusuk on Today at 11:21 »
Hi all

I'm a MK7 GTI owner but my friend wants to buy a normal 1.4 MK6 as his first car. Anyway, I'm not familair with MK6 infotainment systems and we've found two cars that he likes but with two different looks. Can anyone name the differences between the two systems? It seems that SatNav is the only difference, is that right?

Thank you!

Well……the price of that Aliexpress knock-off replica pretty much blows the value out of re-selling the oem VW part.

Oh well, no point worrying about these things. I’m still glad I bought mine 18m ago.

That’s my bloody car in one of those photos!

Didn’t know you lived China, must’ve papped you in the street 😂

Just thought I’d share this, for interest.

Nothing new, but a decent watch..

It’s all down to the tyres and the Vorderachsquersperre, in case you’re wondering

This is just the launch of the Golf R in the US I think, not a special model. The autocar image is off the US instagram page.

They already get the R but it could be the Clubsport? They get the GTI and R currently

More annoyingly though a DSG R is $45,440 or £33,470 on the road!!!

I've had my Mk7 GTD since new in 2014, and am still on my original Xenon bulbs after all this time - can't say i've noticed a huge change in brightness, but they could do with some TLC after this time. I recall that originally I complained about the range to VW under warranty, where the bulbs were nice and bright but the range was causing a problem at higher speeds, it seemed too short for safe observations at around 50mph on country roads, despite having moved from a car with halogens. they never told me what they did, but the range issues I had experienced were no longer an issue afterwards.

My wife's 2017 Mini Clubman has LEDs, and as per previous posters these things are phenomenally bright, superb to drive with at night.
