Excellent vids.
What I find most impressive is that, in the wet and especially at night, one can clearly see road markings which would be practically impossible with Halogens. Really, really impressed.

That was one big plus I noticed when I had them on the MKV, safety jackets also light up from way back compared to the halogens.

I have Xenons that light up  the lower white indicator as parking lights:

I bought  the new Led ones:

To use them you need to have the Cecm  ( vcds 09) software version 0575 or superior to code them properly.

You need to set up as day running lights and change bit 18 to a value 04 MANUALLY.

Then they will light up.

Unfortunately  My  Software version is 501 so I am out of luck, Ill try to go to the VW dealership and ask if they can REFLASH the newer version.

The connectors are the same, but  the coding and poper use  needs a Cecm Highline with  said version.

Cheers

'tis a genuine VW screwing implement fo sure

My point is that they can't check that you have any kind of auto leveling system fitted, so if asked say yes.

FYI mine works on a "sky hook theory driven bi manual VW screwdriver stick it in and twist it it 360 degrees bi adjustment system"

FYI re self levelling on the R. When you start up the lights for the first time, they go through a routine. Don't quote me on the order of this but you very noticeably see them point down, point up, point outwards and then back to centre. Easy to show that to the MOT tester, just need a wall! Am I assuming that the retrofits don't do this?

Good point, The Danno.
The Dancing Xenon Routine = Auto-levelling + cornering. In/out to follow.
