Hi,
I have just had my car Serviced and they noticed a water leak coming from the waterpump/thermostat housing. I have got the car booked in on the 26th which is the earliest I could get it in.
I keep checking the fluid levels and it’s staying at the max level and the only signs of a leak on the floor is the odd 5p size drip if that and not all the time.
In the mean time am I able to use the car as normal without damaging it?
The reason I ask is I could do with doing a 200 mile round trip this weekend.
Thanks in advance

I'd say you'd be fine, I drove mine for a few hundred miles until I could get the waterpump etc done.

Likewise, identical diagnosis during service 4 wks ago.
My car goes in for replacement of these parts tomorrow.
Cost £950 is being met under All In plan.
You are safe to carry on driving.
If anything goes amiss, the car will warn you.
Carry On Driving (sounds like a Kenneth Williams movie).

Drove mine for around a year with mine leaking, had to top up every week or so with about half a Litre of coolant. As long as you keep an eye on the levels you will be fine they do not suddenly fail and dump coolant.

Thanks that’s what I was worried about it just fully leaking out and I do keep an eye on it so hopefully it will be ok.

When you do get it done do not use a main dealer find a good independent as it will save you hundreds.

Well, mine was done yesterday at the dealers. A job listed for around 4hrs took almost a complete day due to the faff of taking stuff apart and putting it together again. Apparently it turned out to be trickier than they had allowed for.
Fortunately I have All In package so a job quoted at £950 cost me nothing.
If the labour cost had been “open ended”, I suspect the entire job would have been more than £950.

Yes be fine to use mine lost coolant for while before I had it changed under warranty.
Also make sure the dealer changes both not just thermostat housing or pump, most dealers will do but the useless one that did mine said we only change the stat housing as that is what's leaking but few months later it stated leaking again!
Pump this time!!

If dealer says they only change either of the 2 not both try another dealer.
