hi just after advice on detailing my car...........
Is this a good buy to start off?? Also how long would this realistically last me?

Fecking ages.

Unless your a complete wash fiend, I would say that kit would last about a year. Collinite is awesome stuff, and the beading has so far lasted ages on my car. I have found that "easy on-easy off" top-up spray waxes have been much more effective post collinite as well, so the need to completely re-do it is far less.

Two things...

1) Remember to get some decent microfibres to polish with
2) Get a clay bar (I recommend Sonus Green) and detailing spray as lube to prep the car before you polish and wax it.

cheers for the advice mate, think I need to read up (even) more on the best way to go about starting off.

Im guessing halfrauds wont have many decent products? Or would they stock decent cloths? I already have to turtle wax somewhere but it was always pretty average......

I got a few things from halfrauds.

Microfibre cloths I buy from Tescos at £1 per cloth but they've now started doing two per pack for under £2. Comes in different colours so you can colour code. I use blue for windows, green for exhaust, yellow for rubber/pastic and purple for drying.
