Hey guys,
First a question to anyone that knows regarding the pressure valves on the pipes going into the heater matrix. What do they do when they stop functioning correctly. Will they limit flow?
Basically my G60 is overheating regardless of wether it's moving or stationary. Chucks all its water out, no heaters but gets slightly warm when revved up. Outlet pipe on the matrix isn't as hot as the inlet but neither feel like the're flowing or pressurised. No sign of headgasket failure. Radiator gets warm as does the bottom hose one the stat opens. Starts pushing water out pretty quickly before the fan kicks in but even rigging a permanent live to it makes little difference.
It all started after changing the camshaft seal. Done about 6 miles after that before the issue arose. Since then I have changed the water pump and thermostat as my initial thinking was the water pump had failed but it's made no difference. Old pump looked worn but obviously still pushing water. Have run a hose through both the matrix and radiator and all appears well. Even filled it up via the top hose to eliminate air locks. When i changed the engine last year it was just a matter putting in the coolant and away it went.
Kind of stumped to be honest hence the question about the pressure valves as my next port of call will be to do away with them.
Advice appreciated.
