Title: 5K Off List.
Post by: SCOTTE on 15 March 2017, 13:05
Just seen my local dealer is offering 5K off list on new Golf Performance models.

Might be of use to some of you looking at the new model

Hope this helps, Remember my commission if you get the deal

I'd be looking a lot more than that off a car. I was offered 7.5k off a facelift R the other day.

Good of you to share this, but if you read the small print it refers to MK7 (not 7.5) Golfs and refers to the R as 300 (not 310)PS, so it appears to be the outgoing model. Good mate of mine got £7.5K off new MK7 R a month ago.

"Vehicles must be registered by 31st March to qualify"

It's the old model.

Wondering what's the best deal on a new GTI PP or R that anybody has had? Was looking at spending £20k on a used one but just wonder how far off a new one I'd be?

Just go on the Drive the Deal site and have a play. There may be slightly better deals to be had (or not) but it will give you a good idea but PP not available to order yet so it'll be a non-PP GTI. I had an email from them a couple of days ago and circa 16% off seemed about right but would include a deposit contribution from VW, so bear that in mind.

I'd be buying outright. It's also the MK7 I'd prefer and not the MK7.5 so thought there might be some good deals around. Not too keen on the MK7.5 - looks a bit fussy and not a big fan of the wheels.

Still take any deposit contribution, you can pay it off the next day at minimal cost (daily interest iirc) and get £1000 in your pocket. Easiest grand anyone could ever earn! Try asking some of the dealers that post on here, I think your biggest problem will be finding a new pre fl in the colour/spec you want but you'll need to get on with it sharpish, dealers may want to pre-reg their cars soon.

You're not wrong about the wheels. A big downgrade to my eyes

Ah ha, didn't realise I'd be able to do that. I think you're right. The things I want could be tricky. White, Performance Pack, Tech Pack, Car Net App Connect, Parking Pack (not a dealbreaker though). Is there anywhere in particular I can look on the forum or dealers?

Tech pack came with App Connect AFAIK...

Yep, looks like you're right. It's included with the Discover Pro pack so must be with the Tech Pack.

Comes out at £26,910 when I spec it on the VW site. Would be amazing to get £5k off that price!

I would say your chances are slim to none to find a pre reg of your required spec. I have had a quick browse on the old trader of autos and I can find a small selection of new and nearly new but they are all pretty boggo PP variants.

Good luck though

Yeah, think it could be a tricky quest. Not really sure where I'd begin to look and highly unlikely even if I could get one with that spec to get the price I want could be another stumbling block

Where did you guys get £7.5k off the new Golf R? On carwow? The most I get off on carwow is £4k and £5.5k off from Drive the Deal.

If you read the earlier post, it clearly says the £7.5K is off the MK7 NOT MK7.5 (new model).

Would still be interesting to know where the £7.5k discount was offered. For those that are looking for a good deal.

Dealers are not advertising that they have 'old' stock as they want to sell new MK7.5 Only way to know is contact a dealer and ask. I was at dealers a few 4 days ago and they still had a few MK7s available.

Well I have Mk7.5 R FL on order and OTR spec after March tax hike is £37850 I'm paying £31,650. I'm pleased with that, cheaper than quoted 3 years back on the inferior Mk :wink:7

I realised Zack was talking about new Mk7 not 7.5 but I also quoted I wanted a GTI who said he was offered 7.5k off the facelift R.

Too right I do, don't find it a hardship- yet! Out of interest anyone had a keyless car stolen? VW that is, I know Audi had issues.

I've just managed to find a new unregistered Clubsport Edition 40. I tried 'everywhere' without much luck and ended up finding it through Facebook of all places. It's being supplied by Barnetts of Dundee and they've been absolutely superb, continuing a Facebook messaging chat until well after 10pm last night

I'm paying £29,500 for a 3 door manual in white with black roof, Brescia alloys, clubsport bucket seats and Dynaudio. They still have a DSG car available too

There are a few others available if you fancy one (GTi World, TL Darby, Marshalls)

Do you mean a few other Clubsports or other? Still after a white GTI PP with a few other bits and pieces. Thinking now I'm too late and will just have to wait for one to come up used at some point.

That's quite funny I had the chance to buy that actual car when it was spec amendable order, but they would only knock £500 off so I walked away.  Good price though they should have taken my offer at the time !

They were good to deal with though if I remember right.  Welcome to the Cs club !

Barnetts in Dundee have a couple of 5 door GTi in stock - black one at a shade over £24k and a white one with options at just under £26k. Must be registered this month
