Title: Problems starting

hi all i have a golf tdi 110 asv engine,non pd. back in november the timing belt jumped a tooth or few on the injection pump,making the engine a non runner. since resetting the timing and putting it back together,its a right pain to start it but once it running its fine
ive replaced all 4 glow plugs so its not them. what else could it be?

Battery low on juice would be my next check.

i already changed battery for a brand new'un. also theres a fair bit of grey smoke after it does eventually start
