The one and only mod I’m doing to the Clubsport. In my opinion this is how the factory decals should have looked

Brilliant. I have located the sticker on Ebay - any tips on fitting it? Reason I ask is you might of figured out a good way to get it lined up etc.

Prep wise im thinking the usual wash process, decontaminate, quick clay bar on that specific patch then wondering if you did the wet fit process or not?

Sorry for the late reply

Masking tape, patience, measuring and a bit more patience.

Hi Kieran,

I just paid £550 for my second hand unit (plus £30 to rent a dongle to code it). I called a VW dealer and found that a brand new one currently costs £650 (but would still need coding).
I looked into shipping from Germany (since brexit German sellers will not post to the UK), UPS wanted £150!!
Hope this helps.

In these conditions it's about the driver not the car. I've got 4 wheels bogged down in a loaded van before, you need go forward and reverse a few times to widen the U shape hole before you'll get out.

My gti lives in the mud these days and it's no bother other than clearance...I really should just get a Touareg...

Welcome Frank from a fellow Devonian.

Best advice I can give is avoid narrow lanes as they wreck paintwork, leave that to the 4WD brigade!

The VAQ diff is all about reducing understeer on the Nordshleife which it does brilliantly. Obviously muddy ruts aren’t its forte. I’ve had a few moments of furious inner wheel spinning myself. Changing up a gear or two seemed to help by reducing the torque being applied to the ground via higher gearing.

Surely the replaced wheel has its own warranty?

Slight off topic but had tinkered with idea of changing my gti performance and had looked at few golf r they were basic spec with no added toys  and the interior was  slightly drab compared to the gti  that aside the garage beside myself just had in a Navarra blue s3  hatch back  which I took a drive in earlier. Traffic was bd nd no real opportunity to send it on. But the interior  again was bit of a let down  and agin few frills   Has anybody any thoughts on that compared to an r thanks

Hi, can anyone please explain why my 2019 GTI Performance semi-auto, with LSD and traction control, failed to even move with 3 wheels on the tarmac road and one, nearside front on a very muddy tyre rut, just spinning futilely no matter whether the TC was engaged or not, no matter whether in forward or reverse gear, please?
I need to know what I did / did not do, so as to avoid such an embarrassing and annoying - especially for other users of our lovely narrow Devon lanes - in future, who were inconvenienced by my car's seeming reluctance to extricate itself from its slippery trap.

Hello GTIO friends !

On my 3rd GTI, a mk7.5 that I 've had for 5 years, and sadly not doing enough miles in it. Previously I've owned a mk1 and a mk7. IMO the mk7 is the sweet spot, although I did many miles in the mk1 and enjoyed it hugely.

My ‘70 plate just out of warranty now requires another new steering wheel, the second in just over a year, they couldn’t replicate the fault last time it went in when under warranty but now can it seems.

After a whinge the offered to reduce the cost by 50% and offered free fitting and labour but it just leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

The software issues have been there from the start and as I suspected they are now passing those costs on to us once the warranty has expired. Shoddy way to do business
