1st of the 61 reg's picked up yesterday, driving home from the dealer on comes the red oil lamp, got home, looked it up, Holy Moly, should have stopped still on first instance. Technician says I would have obliterated the engine by now if it was genuine low pressure, but didn't want to say too much. From being VERY concerned over night I managed a good spot of internet reading, current options are
1) Software....the light wasn't on for my test drive before I signed it off, but was on after they looked at a flat tyre indicator fault.
2) lead not seated or bad connections
3) Over Full on oil
As I say it drove fine, engine temp was normal, dip stick says theirs plenty of oil.
The road side assist guy beamed my engine logs off to Wolfsburg, very nice chap.
Will wait to see what the combination of the dealer and Wolfy come back with.
