The steering rack on my 16v MK2 has given up. Can anyone recommend a good place to get them refurbished Or buy a refurb one?
I have been offered a brand new MK3 rack - does this fit? I know that on the Mk2 the 16v is a quicker rack than the 8v rack but on the MK3 the 8v and 16v are the same. Question is will a mk3 one fit my MK2, and is it a quick rack - are the ratios the same? Maybe a mk 3 rack is an improvement?
The only info I have been advised is that the mk 3 rack may be slightly longer so you need to make up for it in the track rod ends - is this right.
Any help appreciated...
