Mountune Cat Back Exhaust Experience

Hi all,

This is my first post here so hello to everybody.

Has anyone had any experience with the mountune exhaust for the mk7/7.5 GTI.

If you have is it intrusive while cruising? Is it too raspy and obnoxious?  Does anyone have any better suggestions for the money (about £1,000)

I've a Remus GPF back system (non res centre, sport back box) and it's great. Very high quality, no drone. Just don't get carbon fibre tips.

I have a CobraSport Sports Cat and full 3inch Non Res exhaust with 4.5inch Carbon Fibre tips, they are perfect size to fill the cutouts and absolutely love it. Nice deep rumble and reasonably quiet until you press the fast pedal then sounds nice and loud. Absolutely Zero drone at any RPM and build quality if better than the Remus System I had on before.

If you want the bigger tips it is worth ringing them as they do not come with the exhaust it comes with 4 inch

If you want the sports Cat remember you may need the car mapped.

Thanks. Was looking at these as they're one of the affordable ones! Do you know if there's a massive difference to res vs non-res?

Would love to change my DP and keep the stock catback and stay at that but I plan on staying stock or just stage one.

Not sure of the difference sorry BUT I would think the resonated version is going to be much quieter and I know I would have regretted getting it. The non res is perfect for me not loud until you want it to be. I was more worried about it droning but they have done a great job of totally eliminating any drone.

Thank you!! Base on your review I'm torn between Cobra, BCS and Mountune. Gotta point out that I've been intouch with Nigel from BCS and has given me a ton of info so I'm leaning into them.

Nigel is great to work with, I have my BCS on my mk5 and the quality is fantastic. They didn't have a gpf system for the 7.5 otherwise I'd have used them again.
