i doubt it. do you have his address from paying him? did you pay through paypal? that might be a good way to get your money back or at least getting in touch with him?

Paid via bank transfer so didn't need his address.

If you paid via bank transfer you can prove that you paid the money and who you paid it too, so you can take things further if you wish.
