Hi, I know this is a question about a leon but they are pretty much same as the golf and you guys are always helpful.
The key fob that came with my mk1 Leon has never worked, doesn't even flash with new batteries, so I ordered one off ebay which does flash but won't program. I have used vag com and it says only 1 key is set which I assume is the original, but it won't let me change it to 2 (free version). Does this need to be done or is there another way to sync the new fob?
Also to note, with the key it only locks/unlocks the drivers door from the drivers side and does not set the alarm. I have to use the button inside the drivers door to lock/unlock the other doors. However if I use the key in the passengers door it unlocks all the doors but only locks the passenger side (front and rear). There are errors in vag com for the door module which I will post later, so I go 2 other modules from leons but they have different part numbers even though they were off the same model. Having tried them they do different things like not working off the door buttons or not operating windows. Are the modules that different as I'm finding it really hard to find one with the same part number as mine.

Can you do an autoscan an post the resulting (complete!) text file on here?
I can then tell you what is happening with your car....

My version is the free one so won't let me do a full scan but can give you a screenshot of the locking module fault codes
-
VCDS lite will let you do an autoscan, but only if registered.
Check fault codes in 46 and copy/paste the text output to thread. Easier than screenshot.

Try resoldering all joints on the PCB (not the SMD components, only the through hole ones).
The 00953 code is usually from broken solder spots.

On the ccm or the door module?

Are these coded to the car or can I get one from scrappy to test?
-
They are somewhat coded, but that is done easily. But you need to get colour code that works for your car (there are a lot of different versions out there!!).
I would try to resolder joints (basically doesn't cost you anything) before getting another one.

I found it and wiggled the cables and it then locked and armed the alarm from drivers side, but didn't disarm alarm when unlocking, had to do that from passenger side :/ didn't last long before it stopped working though. Will try to remove the module when I have more time

Deffo sounds like a hardware issue then. Should be an easy enough fix with a soldering iron. Good luck ;-)

Yep, resolder joints, also your door lock microswitch(es) may be gone.
