So after selling  my mk8 clubsport  four and bit months ago , I’ve bought another golf. This time I’ve bought a mk7.5 gti 3 door with a manual gearbox. Hopefully I’ll pick it up on Monday/Tuesday

Good choice. Looks much nicer than the mk8
Mk6 GTI Carbon Grey, 2010 Bluetooth and voice fitted, a few VCDS mods still a comfortable family car. Red Scirocco 2011 twin charger stage 1 - enjoyable drive now gone.  White 2016 Polo GTI (roller skate on steroids) replaced with an Indium Grey 2019 7.5 GTI PP.

That’s a quick turnaround of cars, I’m glad I don’t have the monopoly on that sort of thing!

Did the Audi not do it for you or was it just a case of seeing the GTI and temptation won?

Ironically a 3 door manual 7.5 GTI is a relative rarity yet is the classic GTI spec.
A bit more involving to drive, good looks and a UI that just works. All you need is a pedalbox to complete the driving experience. And a remap!

Ex , after getting the Audi remapped I realised I was missing the outright performance of a petrol engine . I’m picking the car up tomorrow afternoon , and it’s already booked in for a remap on the 26th . I’ll have to Google , to see what a pedalbox is or does

Have a search on here about the pedalbox, there are one or two zillion threads and posts on the subject.
What year is your new car?

Good luck and don’t forget the photos!

I have a pedalbox you could have tried out but I don’t think it’ll work on a 2019 car. VW changed the ECU tech around that time.

Yes, it’ll work on yours Dazie, it was first fitted to my mk7 PP Manual, then 7R manual then my mk7 Clubsport (and very briefly a GTD) so been tested across the board of pre-facelift cars!

I eventually took a picture of the new motor , just put the wheels from the old  clubsport and changed them over
