What about auto restart when the car in front moves away after being stationary?

This is one of my biggest bugbears with the 7.5.

Reading the manual, its the same.

I didn't really find S/S that much of a bind on my test drive I have to say...maybe i will once I've got it!

Is there no charging port behind the rear view mirror for a dashcam?

Does the wireless charging still work ok if you have a case over your phone?

No but really easy to run a cable, took me 10 minutes to hardwire mine

Can anyone with a Mk8 confirm if auto restart is on the Mk8, and if so, is there a way to switch it off?

I rarely notice stop start kicking in on my car. Possibly because I almost always have the gearbox in Sport mode (or manual) and I think that prevents it.

You can turn off stop start in the menus, you can even set a short cut up to make doing it easier. However it does come back on next time you start the car up (ie after parked).

It doesn't seem to be on when you have the gearbox in S though.

You definitely cannot permanently disable start stop, not even with Obd11. The only way to do it would be some physical buggery... Somehow.

I don't mind stop start. It's the auto-restart I'm not keen on.

Pardon my ignorance, but what's the difference?

I think auto-restart is where your car’s engine starts automatically when a stationary vehicle in front of yours moves off.

Thanks.  That used to drive me absolutely bananas in my 7.5 GTI.  To the extent where I routinely turned off stop/start at the start of every journey.  I vaguely recall it could be coded out, too.  But I assume not on the mk8.
