First I must give credit to Ollie (previous owner for the work he did) cracking job mate. Here is the 1996 GTI engineering VR6 (plus PAC) in black magic;

Engine wise it has GTI engineering 2.8 OBD2 VR6

Remap to suit mods
Breathers and vacuum pipe delete

Plans for the motor are to;
Delete AC
Tidy the loom/bay

Upgrade coil packs (any ideas?)
Maybe forced induction next year

Wheels & Suspension
Wheels are TH-2's 1780
17x8 5x98 with proper wobble bolts
5mm hub centric spacers at the rear
Centre caps are like rocking horse poo! LOL
Super sport coilovers
Eibach rear camber shims
Weitech anti roll bars all round
2.5 neg camber @ front
1.5 neg camber @ rear
Flat toe at the rear 1mm at front

Plans are to refurb the rims to grey (anthracite) or carbon dip them- suspension will be kept the same.

Brakes
Brembo discs all round
Pagid RS4-4 oranges pads

Interior
Currently colour concept blue black heated leather with single 4 point sparco harness
Highline black trim
Cloth door cards
Corrado leather small steering wheel

Plans for interior are;
Polished half cage
Mulberry heated leather plus door cards
Dynamat everywhere
Nice quality sound system that looks factory
Momo wheel
Cup holder
Highline centre console & gear knob

Exterior
Front air ducts
Quick release front bumper
Morrette twin headlights

Plans for outside;
Paint wings, bonnet, smooth & paint front bumper
Smooth de wiper tailgate- look for a US boot
Treat tiny rust on rear arches
Think about a different headlight solution.....
Polish polish polish......

Put private plate on it and get some show plates

Look forward to show season  :cool:

Few bits done today;

Took out the dodgy sub/amp/power cap (that was live and loose in the boot!)
Took out old leather
Changed door cards to leather highline

Luckily I have a full highline VR that I'm breaking so I've replaced all clips, brackets and sound deadening etc so it is 100% complete interior wise.

Started to play with the cage but not sure on it  :undecided:

Some pics from today ;

Found about £8 under the seats! And just won a Momo wheel and boss on eBay !!

I'll do some more tmw on the highline centre console and one of the rear lights is leaking but I have a spare set so I'll pick the best two and do the seals.

Looking for; stainless back box, aerial options (delete the roof one as I don't like it) new front end not a huge fan of morretes... Vento or is it played out?

Been looking at superchargers and winning one on eBay at the moment FFS don't tell the misses!!!

Few more hours done today;

Interior completed and for now I just bolted the cage in- still not sure but will try it out for a bit......

The heated seats don't seem to be working so need to fault find that, and I'm going to change the quick release front bumper to a factory bumper and smooth it out and go OEM+

Thanks I was going to try the switch unit as previous owner said the same thing about the drivers seat but I have a spare so will try that first if not I'll then look at the loom :)
