Rear Suspension Arm Corrosion

I have a 5 year old Mk7.5 GTI Performance and the rear suspension arms are showing a suprising amount of corrosion around their edges.  Anyone seen this?
Thoughts on removing, stripping, powder coating?  Or is it easier to buy some aftermarket replacements and thoroughly treat them before doing a straight swap?

Was in the same boat, I just wired them back and put anti-corrosion primer on and painted them, followed by BH Dynax.

Unless they need replacing, there's no point in replacing them.

Thanks - did you do this when installed or did you take them off please?

If you decide to remove the arms, mark all the inner bolts to the subframe so they go back in the original position, as the bolts are eccentric to enable camber adjustment.

I Lanoguarded the underside of mine, works well only downside is if you work on the car after you will smell of sweaty sheep.

I’m not familiar with the sweaty sheep aroma - maybe I’ll have to buy some Lanoguard just so I can experience it .

Same for me. Front facing had a small amount of rust when I got the car - 18 months old. Treated and primed then spray painted them. Put on the plastic aero trim that protects the front side that golf dave thread lists in the guides section. No problems in over 3 years and no sheep smells😀
