Water pump and thermostat leak 2019 .

Mine went in last week due to coolant level dropping. Again, pressure tested and no issue found.

I had this problem with a slight coolant loss and after taking it back to VW a second time it turned out to be a leaking coolant overflow bottle which was replaced. Its been ok now for nearly 2000 miles.

VW authorized the warranty replacement which is a bill of £1200 (obvs, not to me but its on the paperwork).  They will probably just replace the thermostat if the pump isn't leaking or the other way round, but with warranty I'm not too fussed going forward.

if any of you are fiddling with your expansion tank bottle you could remove silica bag from the reservoir?  Did mine about a week after I picked it up.
