Exhaust fitting
« on: 07 September 2004, 18:08 »
I've recently fitted to my mk 16valver a Magnex 6x4 system and a TSR 4 branch stainless steel mainifold, both item's we're bought 2nd hand but it very good condition. The system arrived a few weeks before the manifold and spent those weeks mated to the old manifold before being ditched when TSR arrived.

When I bought the manifold I was told that it came with the right bits to fix it to the exhaust, this turned out not to be the case and when my mechanic (VW/Audi specialist) came to fit it, he said he had to weld up a bracket so that they could be mated together.

Well after a couple of months, this bracket has now given up the ghost and after he looked it over today, my mechanic told me I need to get onto Magnex and obtain a proper fixing kit.

As far as I'm aware, I already had one of these with all the relevent parts (the origianl connector sleeve would have been used to connect it upto the old exhuast) but my mechanic knows what he is talking about and obviously when he took the old mainifold off, would have tried to use this and realised it was no good.

If it helps, most exhuasts I've seen have a flanged end with the brackets for which screws go through to connect, my Magnex system does not have this but the manifold does.

Is anybody able to tell me exactally what sleeve/connecter piece I need so that I can finally get my exhuast system properly set up, and who I need to speak to, to get this.......??

hi mate,
Your best bet is to contact your local powerflow dealer, they do all there fabrication on site and will be able to sort you out, have no idea about cost though.
                            cheers
