Long term TCU remap experience

Afternoon,
Has anyone been running a remapped DSG box for a year or more? Have you had any issues or failures? I really want to take the plunge but am trying to do as much research as I can before I do!
Thanks.

Can't speak from experience, but everything I've read says the TCU tune is a must have if getting an ECU tune. It makes sense, but essentially doubles the cost of getting a tune. Still cheaper than getting a new clutch for a manual though
I wonder if anyone has gotten a TCU remap without an ECU tune? Surely would still benefit from quicker gear shifts and maybe better response from low speed/standstill?
