I went and had lengthy discussions with a local detailer yesterday and hes pretty confident about revitalising the non intentional matt effect paintwork along with the majority of the scratches.
So its booked in for 29th May for 3 days and having a full exterior correction and enhancement,  interior and engine bay will also be getting some attention as they're bloody filthy.

In the meantime il be sourcing as many little bits and pieces as possible that will enhance its current tired appearance eg. Inner door handles, floor mats, gearknob, steering wheel

Ive yet to speak with a smart repair guy about pulling the dent out of the top offside wing and the small dings out of both rear wheel arch lips...

Cant beat a good wagon I still miss my old one as it was such a great car, their far better value than the older mk3 and don't really need to much to make them look good. Looks a nice base to start with look forward to see you making it your own

The parts have started to pile up over the past week or so which should help tidy things up some what...

new genuine VW floor mats
new genuine VW inner door handles
pressed plates
Bosch aerotwin wiper set (fronts don't bloody fit though!)
secondhand grey nearside wing mirror (current one is black)
Audi TT pedal covers
Bora illuminated vents
genuine VW rubber coin tray
KVW100 auto window up / down module (great little feature and takes about a minute to install)
Service kit - oil filter, air filter, pollen filter, fuel filter, oil
Coolant temperature sensor
Thermostat

Will be dropping the car off at the detailers first thing in the morning.

Oh i also picked up a pair front seats for the princely sum of £30 which i thought i could salvage the bolster foams from to repair my current drivers side one.
Unfortunately although the centre grey pattern is the same the outer edge material is smooth black rather than charcoal grey like the one sin my car so a full strip down will be required.
What i did also notice is that the spares have lumbar adjustment and  a sh!t load of cables underneath including what looks like a siren / loudspeaker bolted beneath the drivers seat?

Good progress.

You do know the windows with remote can be done on a laptop?

I've done mine and the Passat. Not with VAG-COM but with some other program I need to dig out.

Where all my moneys went.
