Reseat headlight
« on: 05 March 2024, 11:35 »
My passenger headlight unit isn’t quite fitted in the correct place from the factory - it needs shifting to the right a bit. You can tell as there is a gap between the unit and the bumper which isn’t there on the drivers side. Car has not been in an accident and is brand new. It’s just lack of quality control at the factory. Door also need adjusting as that is off a bit aswell.

Question is - how do you move or shift a headlight? The unit doesn’t need to be removed, just loosened and shifted a few mm or a cm or so and then retightened.

The headlight beam is spot on, that’s not an issue. But if the unit is moved a little bit will the beam need adjusting aswell?

Sorry if I havent explained that very well.

Absolutely get the dealer to rectify. They should’ve spotted that at PDI.

Thanks guys, car went into the dealership today. Nothing happened and got the ‘not our problem attitude’
Promptly asked to speak with the service manager to point out this should be covered by the 6 month 6500 mile adjustment warranty for factory issues to which he agreed.

Need to book it in again now…. what is going on with VW these days
