Title: Pd150 lack of power in 6th
Post by: Ajamesc on 05 December 2016, 19:26
Fitted a miltek exhaust system to my golf today now it seems to de rate in 6th if you drive it hard. Seems fine in all other gears. Switch it off and on and it's fine again get it into 6th and it de rates again till you switch on and off any ideas?

Sounds like limp mode.... Are you trying to accelerate from under 2k?
Could be the map sensor shutting the turbo down because its overboosting in 6th

Didn't do it today I cleaned the maf sensor looked up the inlet with my bore scope to make sure the egr was not blocked. Also filled the backhalf of the turbo with mr muscle over cleaner as you do lol in case the variable part was suck also moved the actuator rod back and forth to make sure not stuck. Put some fuel cleaner in the tank and went for a run didn't play up once. Where is the map sensor on one of these

Just before the inlet in a plastic pipe. Itll be reading wrong if the turbo viens were stuck for instance but you seem to have covered all angles.
