well , i took the missus to her first car show as there was a local watercooled vw show last week. turn out was pretty poor in comparison to the uk but the scene here is tiny so can't complain.
it does seem from chatting to a few people that all mk2's originally bought here came from the jap market and have smaller valves , more restrictive manifolds and downpipes , a cat and a different ecu hence the paltry 90bhp.

 it was pretty funny seeing people go gaga over a pretty standard average/good condition small bumper 3dr 16v mk2. :grin:

anyway , sal had been toying with the idea of a mk5 or 6 gti as her company car next year and i think showing her one close up has clinched it!

so, seeing as we'll have at least one dub i might aim for a 325 e30 as i've always loved them and they are much more common here even that at home it seems.  :cool:

ive only been to WA oz for a total of 4 weeks and all i saw was a mk1 golf in denmark! Perth stands a good chance of getting 3 mk2s if i have my way
