If it helps, I saw a set of Cadiz where the owner had blacked out parts of the silver sections and they actually looked really good. I think it was a kit he'd bought rather than a one off. Might be worth researching. I do think Prets look great but they are really expensive to replace and 18" tyres are considerably cheaper too. Google VW Cadiz wheel wrap, there seems to be a few options. Much cheaper than a second set of wheels.

Here’s two different designs of vinyl overlays for VW Cadiz alloys;

I think I prefer the second set.

2020 Polo GTI Plus; Pure White, DSG (because they all are)
Gone but not forgotten;
2016 Polo GTI; Blue Silk
2011 mk6 Golf GTD; Carbon Grey
2007 mk5 Golf GT (2.0 170bhp TDI version); Deep Black Pearl
2002  mk4 Golf GTI (the 150 bhp diesel version); Deep Black Pearl

Hello, what tyres do you have on your MK6?

I think this is the most important factor in road noise. Beyond that both cars can be improved with the Bluemotion / egolf undertrays
Now = 2011 MK6 GTI - Reflex Silver
Past = 2006 MK5 GTI - Tornado Red and Solid Black

I think I prefer the second set.

They look so much better. I’ve got their vinyl door sill protectors and they’re really good quality.
