Michelin are offering cash back of up to £100 for 4 tyres, so if you shop around & get a good deal you can also claim this directly from Michelin afterwards.

I did last years offer & after rebate I only paid £480 for 4x 19" 235/35 PS4S  💪

I can't find that offer at the moment but the cheapest I can find them for currently is £650 fitted!

I had two new Asymmetric 6's on my front axle about 6 months ago (original Potenza moved to the rear) and I really rate them.  So much quieter and better grip than the Potenzas and were about the same price.   They're highly rated generally and so much cheaper than Michelins, so much better VFM if that matters.  They are wearing a bit quicker than the Potenzas but those are not good tyres.

From your post it sounds like VFM matters to you and it certainly matters to me!

Black circles are doing PS4S  235/35 19  for a set of 4 = £713.76 but they also have 10% off using "SALE10" = £650.32 fitted

Then claim the money back from Michelin, all you do is upload a picture of your receipt & they transfer you the cash within a couple of days

www.michelin.co.uk/auto/people-in-motion-offer

offer code: PIM4JY

That means £550 for the set of PS4S 💪

I am doing this, I had 225 35 19 Pirelli allround, I purchased 2x new 235 Goodyear which I fitted to the rear.
The Pirelli originally fitted to the rear still had 7mm of tread so I have put them on the front to hopefully get a little use out of them?
(Like getting your moneys worth?...Etc.... :) )

This tyre combo was fitted the day before a service and Mot at a reputable VW main delaer, the car passed the Mot with no comment made on the tyres.

As stated above fine as long as the tyre size match on the same axle.

Just found Asy 6's on sale for £480 fitted! Do you happen to have a picture of how wide they sit on yours?

Sumitomo own Falken. They aren't budget but are probably in the lower mid range of performance which isn't something you really want on a Gti or R. I just bought my first GTi the other day  😁 unfortunately it has a mismatch of tyres at the back. Probably a original Bridgestone and a continental sport contact 6. The ones on the front I'm pretty sure we're put on by the dealer to sell the car and are just budgets 😞as it's advisory on the MOT was poor quality sidewalls on both fronts. Alloys aren't scratched though.
On my previous Leon which is now my wife's car I have fitted asymmetric 6 all around. Good tyres and as previously mentioned value for money

Yeah I think at £480 for a full set fitted that's about a good a deal as you'll get these days. I just want to make sure that the 235 isn't going to be super wide, I do like a 'square' looking fitment if that makes any sense.

Compared to the 225, I think the 235 fit fine with the added rim protection.

I don't happen to have a picture of my tyre profile, i'm not not that weird! :)

I did go outside and snapped an angled shot of the 235/35/19 Goodyear Assym 6.

Thank you for this, went ahead and got them fitted yesterday since the offer just seemed too good to miss. Only done a few miles on them so far but already I can feel a noticeable difference in ride quality and also a huge reduction in road noise! That could be placebo however but definitely money well spent.
