Title: Cleaning door & boot Returns
Post by: 1st_Golf on 09 January 2009, 22:30
I have the use of a steam cleaner for the next wee while, which has some pretty fine nozzles with it. Is there any reason that I shouldn't use it to clean the returns, and if not, anything to be avoided/regreased? (apart from the obvious moving parts that are visible)

Cheers!

Never used steam so cant really help other than say be careful.

Will you be using just the steam or will you be using APC first then steaming it off?

I would be careful around any edges which have glue, the steam may just remove it.

steam cleaning door/boot shuts is fine  keep it moving and dont hold the jet too close,be carefull of wireing etc.
when dry aplly a good layer of sealant /wax then re-grease moving parts etc.
