« on: 30 August 2010, 11:26 »
Please try and take this thread seriously

Ive been offered a straight sway for a vauxhall vectra sri, 1.9cdti, 150bhp model. 55 plate 112k. Basically my mrs is expecting end of january and i feel the golf is a tad small for a family car,  my car is now approching 132k and is a 2001 golf gt tdi, 115bhp, had some money spent on it (see my sig), please try and give some helpfull answers and try and avoid the temptation of slanting the vauxhall all day long

Thanks

The Vectra is a nice looking motor but the value will drop a lot more than the Golf ever will. To me the Golf is the better every time and is plenty big enough for a family. I have two kids and a five door Mark 4 and a three door Mark 3 and both have plenty of room so that's not a problem. My opinion is to keep the Golf Buddy.

A tad small for a family car? How many kids are you having and what more do you want out of a car? You can fit kids in the back aswell as shopping + buggie in the boot.

I always find it odd when people think they cant have kids and a Golf, the Golf IS a family car.

My previous car was an skoda octavia vrs hatchback and i became used to the size of that, so the golf seems pretty small now, Planning on 2 kids but leaving a couple of years between them. Just want a bigger more spacious car really, and this mk4 is doing nothing but costing me money

Well the vectra didnt seem as nippy as my golf but its a big heavier, but a quick remap would sort that im sure lol, just seemed good idea swapping a 2001 car for a 55 plate with less miles and more toys on.
