Title: Wing mirror
Post by: Deddi on 26 April 2024, 23:31
Hi all

For some reason, my passenger wing mirror has stopped 'dipping' when car is put in reverse. The mirror works and adjusts perfectly in all directions when I use the knob on the door and they fold in fine.

I have checked the setting in the car settings on the infotainment screen and it is 'ticked' where it should be in the menu.

Any ideas what could be wrong, is there a way of resetting the mirrors somehow?

Thanks

Do you still have the mirror adjustment knob pointing towards the passenger mirror?

Have you tried manually adjusting the left hand mirror to your preferred reversing position when reverse is engaged?

If you do the above then disengage reverse and switch off the engine it should be fixed the next time you reverse.

Just make sure the box is ticked in the infotainment and left hand mirror is selected on the drivers door adjustment.

Thanks Guzzie, I'll try that when it stops raining!

Well I tried Guzzle's idea and the mirror dipped when I put it in reverse. Unfortunately, it wouldn't go back up to its normal position - it stayed in the dipped position until I adjusted it manually.

Any suggestions please?

Did you try driving forward with the door mirror glass in the dipped position? It should return to the normal (non-dipped) position when you drove forward and reach a speed of somewhere between 5-10 mph (can’t remember the exact speed).

Thanks very much for the replies and suggestions, my wing mirror now dips when in reverse and returns to normal position when I go forward - great result!
