I can’t decide between the Milltek Sport exhaust and the Milltek Race exhaust.

I’m obviously after more sound but equally I don’t want it to be over the top, I’m almost 40 😳.

I’ve watched the video by Ashley Neal and the Autoid who both fitted the Sport exhaust and do find it to be a little underwhelming. However, you can’t always tell on a compressed YouTube video.

All the videos I can find of the Race exhaust are American who don’t have an OPF and I do find those to be a little over the top.

So I was hoping one of you have one of these systems on your car and how you found the sound?

I know exhaust sound is highly subjective but any insight would be great.

I've been toying with the idea of this as well...
My friend said if I'm just wanting it to sound a bit better then a Res delete would be the cheaper option but as you said your 40 (I'm 41) I do want the car to sound a bit meatier but not over the top. What exhausts you been looking any, any links?

Hey man,

I’ve been poring over every YouTube video I can find and I narrowed it down to both Milltek systems and the Remus system.

I’ve been in touch with Awesome GTI in Manchester where I plan to get it fitted and they helpfully mentioned that the Milltek systems are interchangeable. Meaning I can go for the Race system and if I find it too loud I can get the back box put on easily.

I’m in the same boat , but I’m 45 so should know better  I’ve done the res delete and it definitely sounds much nicer with the occasional very subtle burble but I’m still wanting more sound track when on the gas
I’d love to hear the scorpion setup in person to gauge the volume

I love how the 40’s guys are banding together haha!

Well I think I’m going with the Milltek Race exhaust so I’ll report back once it’s done (mid June I’m booked in), I’m getting a remap too because why the hell not!

Cool Cool I'll wait  for your review once to have Milltek Race exhaust fitted. I am the fence between a  Milltek EC Sport, Race or the Remus Race.

Look forward to hearing the pros and cons of the system to be fitted to your GTI.

I have a MK8 Clubsport and I'm underwhelmed by the sound, overruns in Sport and Nurburgring aside no DSG farts or anything mostly tyre noise.

Am I missing something it's the Clubsport the sportier version of the standard GTi.

You can blame the EU for that.... the rules changed around Q4 2020 and everything had to be much less noise.

The Mk8 never was loud because of that and things like the BMW M135i suddenly got silenced mid production.

"In 2020, the EU implemented stricter noise emission limits for new vehicles, including cars, vans, and lorries, as part of its broader effort to reduce environmental noise. These new limits, based on Regulation 2014/540, which the UK adopted, initially set a noise limit of 72 decibels (dB). This limit is scheduled to further reduce to 68 dB by 2026"
