Title: Upgrade fuel pump.
Post by: sharki786 on 25 December 2017, 13:03
Hi all hope every ones having a nice xmas. Im going k03s hybrid and as every ones knows that the factory fuel pumps are on their last legs. So i have had a look around and cant seem to find any decent info. I should have bought the deatchwerks dw65v @ £100 but i guess i messed up & now they are twice as much. Now i have  been reading on the sytec and they tend to fuel starve when heavy cornering when at 3/4 tank. So now im stuck and need some help. No point fitting a 2nd hand pump. So what do you guys recommend? I dont want an inline pump i rather have a intank. So which do you guys recommend? Budget is max £100 unless you can prove its worth the money.

Thanks

Sytec is fine as long as it's fitted correctly. It's the direction I'll be going in the new year

Is it a straight forward jobbie or plastic welding etc?

Nothing other than removal and refit IIRC

I'll see if I can find any guides on how to fit it, I'll need one myself. One thing I would advise is having a spare to do the swap with rather than the one from your car; at least it will be dry

Any 2WD fuel pump will do, the housings are all the same

Thanks wazzer.
My mate has a brand new pump of his mk5 gti and he has upgraded to the ttrs pump so said i can have his pump. So im thinking im only going tops 250bhp IF it makes anything near that. So im thinking if the pump IS same from the mk5 then it should b ok to run?
