I'm struggling with the same problem at the moment! I think it depends on where you are going to locate the numberplate, if your going to relocate it then smooth the recess, otherwise leave the recess :)

this came  in the post today :) just needs painting up, not sure wether to do the badge black, white or blue at the moment, opinions? im swaying towards blue though(same colour as wheels obviously)

Are you going to paint the whole thing white or just the bottom section? I reckon you should get a few badges, and try a few different colours out, pink for you winter wheels and blue for the Cups :)
