Hi,
My daughter has a Golf Cabriolet, 1998 that had sticking brakes. We found that one of the front brake calliper carrier brackets was sticking. Turned out one of the sliding pins was completely stuck, we couldn't remove it of shift it. The nut head actually snapped off and it had not budged. So I drilled a hole in the broken stuck pin, fired up the blowtorch and inserted an easy out. The hope was that the heat and the rotation pressure would budge the pin. But the easy out snapped.
So, new bracket and pins. Thought this would be easy, but long story short, we can buy a 357615125A part (256 by 13 mm) but for this car we need the B version, not the A. (256 by 20 mm ?). Which was made obsolete back in 2017 and no one has in stock.
We have checked the sites according to google, just wondered if anyone might know of somewhere that might have obsolete parts or difficult parts to source?
Many Thanks.
Gavin.
