« Last post by candywhite12 on 11 July 2026, 09:53 »tried all of the below mentioned, currently running hankooks from factory, which imo is a piss poor factory choice of a tire for this car, ran ps4s for ages before switching to ps5s, wife's got conti sc7, and had pirelli p zeros from factory in my mk6. All things considered, any of the michelins all day long for me, but i guess it also comes down to personal preferences, i find the contis much quieter, pirellis were lively but had a much shorter lifespan, ps4s were the pick for me but unable to get my hands on them anymore hence the switch to the newest ps5s. Also consider that i am located in Cyprus hence much higher running temperatures than uk

A standard/basic sub should be fine. You just need to buy credits to use the “apps”. From memory, lane assist needs 50 credits, speed warning needs 200. And if you want to adjust the sound actuator level, that’s only 10 credits.

Really doesn't seem to be getting any better for VW.
On a brighter note, at least it will mean we won't see as many VW cars with a glowing front and rear badge.
I’m glad it’s not just me who doesn’t like illuminated badges. It’s not just VW that have adopted this current trend which hopefully will be short-lived, but sadly is probably here to stay.

I work with UK vehicle data and recently built a free MOT history checker called MotRadar — enter a reg and it shows past failures, advisories and mileage trend straight from DVSA data. Handy if you're eyeing up a used GTI and want to see its history before viewing.
I joined because the buying advice and how-to boards here are gold, and I'd like to learn what MOT testers tend to pick on for older Golfs specifically. Happy to answer any MOT-data questions in return.
