Title: Help with 1998 gti. please dont delete
Post by: Blobby1 on 13 February 2017, 19:53
Hello,

Sorry I am new to the forum but could really do with a little help. Today I got a email I was wondering if you guys could help me with. Sadly my best friend was tragically killed last years and left his sister his old 1998 Golf GTI. She has emailed me asking if its worth anything and wondering what is the best way to go about selling it. Its a 1998 golf gti that has a years mot and runs as it should but it has various issues. The door locks appear to not be working as they should. The drivers side back door is not the original from the car. Sorry not to many details at this time but would you think its worth selling or just scrapping? If it is worth selling how would you go about it? Ebay perhaps? Also how much would you ask ( sorry hard one as no photos or mileage as of yet ) Please note I don't have this car and are not selling it my self but rather just looking for a little advice to pass on.

Thanks in advance for any help

Edit: just found out its got 130,000 miles on the clock.

If it's a standard car it's probably worth 4-500 tops stick it up on gumtree or any other site and hope for the best

As said, Ebay and hope for the best. Watch for con artists and don't let car go until funds definitely cleared. Mate o mine recently took deposit on car on Ebay, 'buyer' then claimed Paypal had been hacked and got refund.
