I've always cleaned my maf and temp sender that sits in the manifold and its been fine and still going at 78k 

However when I cleaned the TB it died, the carb build up kept it going as the potentiometer was ruined and could not adjust even with a manual adjustment on it by sliding it across to the stock position. So goes both ways I suppose.

When you clean the TB, It can cause problems but you are supposed to do a TB alignment with vagcom after cleaning.

The New MAF from audi is fitted and wow what a transformation it has made back up to full power (although very very hard to test in the wet - spin city )

whist testing, couple of lads in a 1997 EK9 Civic Type R thought mine was  just a 8v GTI and tried to leave me at the lights..He chose the wrong Golf to mess with because it was BYe Bye civic hahahaha..  to say he got a shock was a under statement

Love this car.. seems to be getting to feel faster !!!!  not sure if the ECU has now reset itself or somehting to accomodate the correct readings from the MAF.. either way, feels rapid

Car goes off to bodyshop tomo for Full repaint.. should see it back in a week or so..

will get pics of work carried out. but its basically just a full repaint keeping it all OEM.

will be ready for VW Festival, Harewood house - Leeds

Unless he is working for 24hours on those 7 days i would like someone to take a bit more time over it!

mate iv had a lot of cars painted - i know the deal  he is one of my best mates, and he knows full well how fussy i am 

and i did say A WEEK OR SO car is part stripped. rest will be done tomo. every panel is coming off apart from rear 1/4 and Roof obviously because these are part of the shell

It has no rust issues or any dints, so nothing major.

He also has a great bodyshop - Ovens etc so paint will be correctly cured .. not no back street place anyhow so dont you worry. you should know by now i dont do crap
