Mk1 golf rust cure & help needed
« on: 09 September 2007, 10:16 »
Hi All

My first post on here, so be nice :)

I've recently been cleaning up all the rust on the floor pans, I've taken mostly everything back to the bare metal, and have had all the holes welded,

Could anyone recomend a rust cure to put on before i prime and paint it?

ive used very small amounts of "Krust" in the past on small rust spots, however as this is a large area would probably need something different.

Cheers for the help in advance

adz :)

Por-15 does a pretty good job, i've used it on my old porka, basically all the floorpans and inner wings, really bloody hard work stripping of the ld underseal, then re sealed with 3m spayable sealer, only the inner wings not the floors, I just left the Por15 on them.

Its tought stuff.

Make sure you use the metal ready as well before applying, as this kinda etch primes the metal for the por-15 paint to stick to, oh and don't get por15 on your hands either it takes weeks to come off.

Good luck
