Finally booked my car into the bodyshop to repair rear quarter panel. Just short of £300 😢

Not what you want but I'm sure you'll be pleased once it's done. I was very happy when mine was sorted.

You'll feel much better once it's done Snooze, despite the £300 hit, and the car will be back to its former glory.  Soon be a distant memory.

Driven back from my Yorkshire holiday today, 250 or so miles and a fair selection of motorways. My GTI proved to be a very comfortable motorway muncher and at some point today went over the first 10k miles as now on 10159. Averaged around 40mpg overall even though I may have inadvertantly slipped over 70 for most of the way (80-90 perhaps, but don't tell anyone...). Car is a bit dirty now and even had a cheeky mouse poo on the roof!

They should activate at the first swipe of the wiper stalk after ignition and lights on, and on the 5th swipe thereafter.

I don't think this would have happened in sport mode as the motor does react much more quickly.

The difference is only throttle mapping, not engine mapping. (If you had DSG it would make another difference, but not with manual.)

A stomp to the buffers gives you the same power in any mode - ok, for the duration of pushing the pedal it doesn't but once you are at the end of the travel, its exactly the same.

I don't think on a motorway drag race its going to amount to a whole load of difference. Its more about a more gradual throttle curve for fuel economy.

I agree it's just throttle mapping, so you just have to move your foot a bit further.  Brings me back to an earlier post about pedal box which is also just throttle mapping, but folk on here are raving about it!
