I recently decided that as much as I love the Civic TypeR (and I really have, best standard road car I've ever owned) I really needed something a bit better on juice and was capable of towing the MX5 on a trailer to race meets etc. I spent weeks researching different options and looked a 3 series touring, passat estates, Freelanders etc etc. The Yeti was mentioned by someone somewhere but I don't remember who. Went to see a few and settled on this one.

2009 2.0TDI (140bhp) 4x4 in Elegance spec. Options added when new include Park Assist and Panoramic Roof. 49,000 miles and full Skoda history.
Let the jokes commence. :)

Old Man Horne ...................................
Joking aside, for what you need it for it will be ideal, just dont forget your not in the Civic when at the traffic light GP !!!
PS must be skoda time of the year, currently investigating VRs occies as a toy :lipsrsealed:
-
Well impressed with the dealer and the quality of these later Skoda products. Bloody hold their value though. £12K for a 6 year old Skoda!!!!!!!
-
S'now jokes here

that's mk6 gti money  but prob better for what you need
-
So it is! Same money for similar age and mileage. I wonder how close they were on price when new? I have a feeling the Yeti was more expensive.

probably about the same again  drove a few yetis now drove a similar 1 to yours the other day great to drive  it was the adventure I drove the other day
-
I actually really like the look of these. I have absolutely no need for one but they seem to float my boat.
I am also getting old...
-
That's a really nice spec. Xenons too
-
Don't tell anyone but they handle nearly as well as a Mk6 GTI and are more practical and capable.
Don't they have hill ascent/decent control with the Haldex?
Interior reminds me of a Touran for some reason
Boring as fek to look at mind
-
Welcome to the Skoda club Nick.
The Yeti is practically a VW Tiguan and they are very good towing cars, my parents are considering one for their next tow-car.
In fact I just got a tow bar fitted to my Skoda. I used these guys to get it fitted at home towbar2u.com (http://www.towbar2u.com/)

Collection day has arrived!

Now those of you with a trained eye will notice this Yeti is not black and is also a facelift. This is because when I went to collect mine it wouldn't start until a jump pack was used. CDG have lent me this until they can sort mine and deliver it to me. Disappointed not to have my new car but can't complain at the service or attitude of the dealer which has been excellent so far.
-
Don't like them as much in a light colour...
-
Yours is black right? Murdered it out!!
-
I am thinking of wrapping the chrome grill surround black.

good start!

Very happy over all with a only a couple of gripes. The new tyres that were fitted were supposed to be mid range. They're not, they're budgets of a brand I have never heard of. The 2nd thing is they have cleaned the leather with what I can only assume is some kind of sex lube, slippery isn't the word, ha ha.

It needs chrome exhaust trims. In fact I'm surprised they're not there. They are only about £25 from the dealers.

They're on the mod list, which looks like this:
Rear bumper protector - Bought and in post
Gen Yeti mat set - Bought and arrived today
Witter detachable tow bar and electrics _ Being fitted tomorrow morning
Matt black grill surround wrap
Silver mirror caps to match rails and bumper trims
Chrome exhaust trims
MDI Ipod interface kit
Shark Performance Remap to 175bhp
-
Popped down to Phil Taylor Towbars in Horndean this morning to get a Witter detachable and dash to boot wiring loom fitted. Including cutting the bumper, fitting the hatch, running the loom, fitting the bar and coding the car it took a mind boggling 50 mins!

Bloody pricey for a Skoda mind!!
-
Yeah I know. I thought they were having a laugh but the more I searched Autotrader, eBay and the Skoda used car site I found the 4x4 diesel high spec ones command a real premium, you can pick up the petrol 2WD ones for about half the price.

Been working the Yeti hard this weekend.

Found a useful resource of local greenlanes while scoffing my dinner and decided as one was within 2 miles of where I live it would be rude not to have a nosey and enjoy a beautiful sunset.

Lol. There all pretty tame and it's been mostly dry. I've turn around a couple of times when I've thought it might be a little risky.
If I'm going to do any of the serious routes I'll be going with friends and other cars. I'm stupid, but not that stupid.

I've got winter tyres for it in the garage already. Some steels and AT tyres could be fun but spare monies all go into the racing pot.
