Fax details of an insurance policy is not proof to get tax. You cannot do it without a) a proper valid insurance certificate or b) a valid covernote or c) proof it's on the MID. Photocopies and faxes are NOT acceptable.

Keeping schtum. Mostly.

Agreed, they will not accept a fax of the policy.

Nope, understand that.

But I'll "sell" my car to my boss as a salesman then.

He used to trade cars about and says it will be fine.   He's got an insurance certificate I can use.

I'll get a fax for when I get pulled over, which no doubt I will. Everything declared though, so got nothing to worry about.

Can't you just tax it online?

Not on askmid.com so they won't do it.

I might try to find an office for the insurance company. Got a long trip tomorrow morning (not this car nor me driving) so I MAY be able to pick one up and save all the hassle.

Tried several times.

Cheers though.

Offices in Croydon and underwriters in London.

I'll phone them, if they can do it, it saves a bit of hassle. Plus I'll have a certificate for the glovebox. If not, do it through the trade.
